I Went Back to See Them’ is a photographic installation series inspired by my experience as a first-generation migrant and the feeling of ‘home’ but from the perspective of women at home. It explores the concept of 'home' through the lens of women who reside there. The phenomenon they are witnessing is the migration of succeeding generations to further distant locations. Therefore, the study centres on the psychological consequences of 'displacement' experienced by these women, while also acknowledging that the concept of 'home' is an intricate combination of cultural, economic, and psychological factors.
